The stress tensor is expressed in terms of an arbitrary symmetric tensor field of second rank and the couple-stress tensor. The stress and couple-stress tensors are represented through arbitrary tensor fields satisfying the homogeneous equilibrium equations. These tensors are also given in the form of expressions satisfying the inhomogeneous equilibrium equations of the microcontinual elasticity theory. The stress tensor functions are introduced.
