The use of the following explicit multistep methods of two types is proposed to solve stiff problems: the adaptive (nonlinear) methods and the stabilized methods with extended stability regions. The methods of order 1 and 2 with step size control are considered. The efficiency of the proposed methods is illustrated on a number of test problems.
Keywords:
ordinary differential equations, stiff Cauchy problem, explicit multistep methods.
