The problem of the calculation of dispersion relations for photonic crystals is investigated. The use of the transfer matrix method and the plane wave method for solving this problem is proposed. It is shown that these methods, which were earlier used for obtaining the energy band diagrams, are applicable for calculating the dispersion relations as well.
Keywords: photonic crystal, band diagrams.
