The specific features of long-lived photon echo which is excited in a dielectric nanocrystal doped by non-Kramers rare-earth ions are considered. The relationship between the information storage time under the long-lived photon echo regime and the modification of phonon density of states in passing from bulk crystals to nanocrystals is discussed.
