X-ray difraction in the single crystal off-surface layers

The energy flow in single crystal off-surface layers in symmetric and asymmetric Bragg reflections has been investigated. It has been shown, that in the symmetric Bragg reflection some of the diffracted energy flows along the reflecting planes. In the symmetric case there is no flow in the off-surface layers since the reflecting planes are arranged at an angle to the entrance surface.
