Obituary of Oleg Viktorovich Viskov, who passed away on June 21, 2018. For many years he taught probability theory at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University), where he assisted in the training of highly qualified researchers. During his career, he made a significant contribution to the development of asymptotic methods in queueing theory and reliability theory.
