On strongly unimodal infinitely divisible distributions of class CME

A class of CME distributions on $\mathbf{R}$ is defined as an extension of the class on the nonnegative half line. This extension arises naturally in discussing sojourn time distributions of birth-and-death processes. The necessary and sufficient condition for CME distribution to be strongly unimodal is given.
