This paper is a survey of general results on limit theorems describing the restricted convergence of distribution functions of sums of independent random variables and distribution functions of order statistics and also results on the continuation theory of distribution functions. Some unsoliring problems are formulated.
Keywords: restricted convergence ($r$-convergence), central limit theorem, continuation problem of distribution functions, positive definite functions.
