We use the generating functional method to consider the perturbation theory for the Matsubara operator for the Fröhlich model of an electron–phonon system. We obtain expressions determining the perturbed Hamiltonian of the electron–phonon system and the effective Hamiltonian of the electron system after averaging over phonon states.
