Can the Goldberger–Treiman relation be derived for massless pions?

It is shown that conservation of the axial isovector current in the limit $m_\pi\to 0$ leads to a definite relationship between the $\beta$-decay constants and the constants of the $a_1$ meson but not to the Goldberger–Treiman relation.
