Spectral representation of nonequilibrium Green's functions in the Kadanoff–Baym technique

A modification of the mathematical formalism of the Kadanoff–Baym method is proposed. Exact expressions are obtained for the retarded and advanced Green's functions and the spectral function; they are valid for arbitrary variation of an external potential field in space and time without assumption of smallness of the interparticle interactions.
