The Fermi–Ulam problem is investigated, namely, an elastic ball moves vertically
between two infinitely heavy horizontal plates, one of which is fixed while the other
moves in a vertical direction in accordance with a periodic law. Under some
assumptions that are not restrictive it is shown that for all initial data the velocity
of the ball is bounded.
