Colored scalars and new hadrons

It is shown that the introduction of light scalar quarks into quantum chromodynamics leads to the appearance of a new family of hadronic states with physical properties qualitatively different from the known mesons and baryons. The characteristic mass scale of the new hadrons is tens of GeV. It is possible that these states lie in an energy region already accessible to the existing accelerators.
