It is shown that in the field theory of gravitation with minimal coupling the forces of gravitational attraction go over into forces of gravitational repulsion with increasing gravitational potential. Therefore, instead of the gravitational collapse inherent in the general theory of relativity, the new theory has a new mechanism of energy release, since small perturbations of the radius of an astrophysical object which has reached the critical value of the mean gravitational potential necessarily lead to expansion of the matter, which can be accompanied by the ejection of some of the mass of the object and release of energy.
