Divergence of the Burnett coefficients in the three-dimensional hydrodynamics of hard spheres. I.~Linear approximation

It is shown on the basis of the Iinearized kinetic equations of the hard-sphere model that application of the Chapman–Enskog method leads to divergent expressions for the transport coefficients at the leveI of the Burnett equations.
