A quantum expression is obtained for the Stark profile of a spectral line which is valid in both the impact region and the static region and takes into account the nonbinary nature of the interaction of the atom with the perturbing electrons. The nonbinary nature of the particle interaction is taken into account by the introduction of an effective potential, in terms of which the width and shift operators are expressed. In a weakly polarizable medium, the effective potential reduces to a two-body potential, and the obtained results agree with those of previous papers.
