Application of~the Lund-Regge method to~the chiral $CP(n)$ model

Geometrical method due to Lund and Regge is applied to the chiral $\sigma$-model. Pohlmayer's reduction method is used which gives, in particular, the $\sin$-Gordon and Liouville equations. Relation to gauge theories is considered.
