Dependence of the vacuum expectation values of the energy-momentum tensor on the geometry and topology of the manifold

The vacuum expectation values of the energy-momentum tensor of the scalar field and electromagnetic field are calculated in bounded volumes of different configurations and topologies. The behavior of the sign of the energy density is studied as a function of the characteristic sizes for certain configurations.
