Using the unitarity condition and analytical properties of the amplitude in the $z=\cos\vartheta$ variable, it is shown that the main contribution in the elastic scattering into the forward and the backward light cone at high energy is due to the parts of the amplitude which are determined by singularities in the right and left semi-planes of the $z$-plane, respectively.
