Large-angle potential scattering in the variable phase approach

An approach to the theory of high-energy potential scattering is proposed on the basis of a generalization of the variable phase method. A new approximation for the amplitudes valid in a wide range of scattering angles is obtained. The orrections are calculated and analyzed. The relationship between this approximation and the known approximations is discussed.
