New asymptotic expansions are obtained for the hypergeometric function corresponding to the classical limit in the bremsstrahlung problem. Features of the limit are discussed for dipole and quadrupole emission in the nonrelativistic case and also for the emission of an ultrarelativistic particle deflected through a small angle in a Coulomb field.
