Quantum description of Brownian motion in an~external field

The classical Langevin equation is used to derive a Schrödinger equation describing Brownian motion in an external field. The approach is exemplified by the exactly solvable problem of the Brownian motion of a quantum oscillator. The influence of fluctuations is considered.
