The analytic properties of nonlinear susceptibilities are studied and a spectral representation obtained for them. The nonlinear susceptibilities are compared with the amplitudes of photon interaction processes. The one-dimensional dispersion relations and the threshold behavior of the susceptibilities are considered. The analytieity of the susceptibilities is used to establish asymptotic relations between them at high frequencies.
