Orientational ordering in rigid cubic orthohydrogen and paradeuterium is described in terms of the bifurcation of the solution of a nonlinear integral equation obtained in the average-field approximation. The critical temperature and the angular dependence of the distribution function for one of the possible transitions agree well with experimental data.
