Trace formulas for charged particles in nonrelativistic quantum mechanics

The radial Sohrödinger operator for charged particles is studied. A series of identities is
obtained, these being similar to the trace formulas for a Schrödinger operator with a rapidly
decreasing potential. It is shown that the trace formula of zeroth order entails equality of
the quantum defects of the discrete and the continuous spectra.
