Stress-resultants in the shell theory - Asymmetric or symmetric?

We have revealed the non-invariance of the usual methods (Truesdell, Naghdi, etc.) for the introduction of stress resultants in the theory of shells. The approaches allowing a geometrical consistency in this introduction are proposed; a direct consequence is the symmetry of these resultants.
