It was shown in the work that solitary waves — a common and very characteristic phenomenon of nonlinear wave theory, under certain conditions can also exist on the surface of a rotating liquid. In case the liquid rotates relatively slowly, the Korteweg-de Vries type equations describing the propagation of these waves are executed. The influence of rotation on their propagation is discussed and some exact and approximate solutions of the evolution equations are found.
