Plane strain consolidation of a poro-elastic layer on a rough base

A poro-elastic layer of finite thickness $h$ on a rough rigid base is loaded with a strip of width $2a$ and treated in the plane strain condition. The expression for the surface consolidation as a function of time is found in a form suitable for numerical treatment.
