We introduce SYMCHAR, a collection of C routines that allow to compute with symmetric groups, multivariate polynomials, representations, characters, symmetric polynomials, wreath products and many other related structures.

The program is public domain. It can be downloaded at http://www.mathe2.uni-bayreuth.de/axel/symneu_engl.html.
