In this paper, I want to highlight the important role of mathematics in the study and in the knowledgeof the Brunelleschi's Dome of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, by showing the mathematical aspects, which have been extremely helpful in understanding this fascinating and “mysterious” construction.
