In recent years, scientists have discussed the possibilities of increasing the computing power of computers. One of the possible approaches is the use of parallel computing. In the paper, we deal with the essentials of parallel design of algorithms: basic ideas, architectures, interconnection networks, and we present the parallel reduction algorithm.
