Quasi-linear systems and waves in thermoviscous fluiddynamics

Si considera un fluido viscoso e conduttore di calore il cui comportamento è descritto mediante variabili nascoste. Si mostra che le corrispondenti equazioni di evoluzione, insieme alle usuali equazioni di bilancio, individuano un sistema iperbolico di equazioni quasi-lineari. Tra le onde ammesse dalla teoria si esaminano in dettaglio le onde trasversali propagantisi in regioni in equilibrio; tali onde risultano eccezionali.
