A method is described which permits the application of electrophoretic techniques for the study of enzyme polymorphisms to single individuals of the Copepod Tisbe. The method has been tested with F1 and, occasionally, F2 individuals obtained by crossings between two geographic populations of T. clodiensis. The electrophoretic analysis carried out for the Phi, shows that this enzyme is under the control of three codominant alleles at the same locus. Gene frequencies in the two populations have been calculated. Both method and material prove very favourable for approaching a variety of ecological-genetic and evolutionary problems in the marine environment.
