Morphological and histocheraical observations have been performed on gastric parietal cells of the mouse, using optical and electron microscopy. The histochemical study of the localization of carbonic anhydrase (CA) has been done according to Häusler's technique, whose specificity is also discussed. The results obtained have clearly shown an elective localization of CA activity in the intracellular canaliculi. Some lysosome-like structures have been also observed in the parietal cells.
