The ultrastructural characteristics of the emocytoblast, of the basophilic, polichromatophilic and acidophilic erythroblasts and of the eritrocyte of the primitive emopoietic series in the chick embryo are described. Particularly emphasized are the aspects of the pentamerie polysomes, supposed to be linked with hemoglobin synthesis, and of the ferritine aggregates in the cytoplasm of the erythroblast and eritrocyte.
