L’importanza delle definizioni in Matematica

The purpose and nature of definitions, theorems and mathematical proofs are considered. It is our duty as teachers to support students to overcome the difficulties when accepting a “hundred percent precise” definition or recognizing the difference between an empirical argument and the rigorous proof. It is very important to avoid an excess of unnecessary notions in the presentation of single chapters of Mathematics.
