The Kegel--Wielandt $\sigma$-problem: review of results

Let $\sigma$ be a partition of the set of all prime numbers. In the paper the results of different years and different authors concerning the Kegel–Wielandt $\sigma$-problem are discussed, and the approaches to its solution are analised.
