A high latitude study of the galactic radio background is done. A clear evidence for a weak radio halo is found. An attempt to estimate the strength of the magnetic field in the galactic halo is done. It is found that this quantity is most likely equal to 1.6 $\mu$ G but it could be as great as 3 $\mu$ G.
