On the Matrix Equation $X^{-1}X^*=A$

Solvability conditions are examined for the matrix equation
$$
X^{-1}X^*=A,
$$ which cannot be found in the well-known reference books on matrix theory. Methods for constructing solutions to this equation are indicated.
