Numerical modeling of low energy strike at composite stringer panel

The paper is devoted to numerical modeling of low energy strike at backed composite stringer panel. Elastic waves in composite medium are investigated, including interactions with both external borders of the sample and internal contact boundaries between composite subpackages. The areas of maximum stress and possible damage in the sample are determined from spatiotemporal dynamic load distribution and dierent destruction criterias. Grid-characteristic method is used for solving the system of equations with high space and time resolution.
