Mathematical simulation of helical flux compresion generator physics

Helical flux compression generators (HFCG) are used as sources of powerful peak currents and magnetic fields. We propose a numerical method of the HFCG resistance calculation based on the nonlinear magnetic diffusion. The method has been implemented with the two-dimensional HFCG model and demonstrates good agreement with experiments both at small and high conductor heating.
