Mathematical modelling of MHD pump operation taking into account external circuit

2D cylindrical symmetrical nonstationary mathematical model of the MHD pump is presented in the paper. To describe electromagnetic fields the MHD approximation of Maxwell's equations is used. To describe the motion of heat-transfer fluid in the pump passage the Navier–Stokes equations in terms of vortex and flow function are applied. The fluid consumption is calculated from the equation of fluid motion along closed circuit. The calculation results of different pump operating modes are presented.
