Method of characteristics with fluent grid and wave processes simulation in piston engines

The new version of the method of characteristics is developed. This method allows the execution of integral conservation laws. Results of the test calculations for wave processes are given, after the experimental investigations performed on the special gas dynamic impulses generator. Good accordance with the experimental oscillogram was delivered and shown the fact that numerical methods with the fixed grids do not provide the necessary accuracy of calculations regarding the waves phases and amplitudes. With this the developed numerical method was calculated and produced the prototype intake system for the tractor diesel engine, this system can provide the inertia supercharging with significant engine performance improving.
