This article describes general stages of designing and development of computational aeroacoustics (CAA) program package WHISPAR produced in IMM RAS. This package has been used for solving 2D aeroacoustics problems on structured grids. The paper describes the most common characteristics of high-accuracy CAA packages and some WHISPAR features such as algorithms of cross platform realization, parallelization, data postprocessing algorithms and so on. The paper also describes the verification techniques used at designing the CAA package.
