The double period method uses decomposition into special trigonometric series for approximation and extrapolation of the non periodic functions. It has considerable advantages against existing methods. The most significant problem is solving a linear system with an ill posed matrix. This problem was investigated in this paper. To achieve higher precision the optimal parameters were found. The results are illustatated with actual examples.
