Numerical modeling of heat-mass transfer processes in hydrothermal crystal growth vessel

The numerical modeling is performed to investigate the heat-mass transfer processes in a hydrothermal crystal growth system, which is considered as a cylindrical vessel filled with liquid and partially with porous matter. A seed plate is set into the top part of the growth vessel. Navier–Stokes and Darcy–Brinkman–Forchheimer equations are combined to obtain the general solution. The convective diffusion equation describes the distribution of solved substance concentration in the liquid. The algorithm of the numerical realization of the model has been designed. The temperature and concentration fields have been examined as well as the flow structure in the vessel at different heights of the porous layer, with the seed plate.
