Supersonic rarefied gas flow through a grid of normally posed plane plates

One consider the gas flow through a periodic grid formed by plane plates of infinite length. The computational problem is formulated as 2 dimensional unsteady one. It is solved by combined application of Boltzmann and Navier–Stockes equations. The kinetic equation is solved inside strongly unequillibrium zones near the plates, while outside this area the hydrodynamic equations are used.
