On vortex flows in a gap between two parallel plates

Theoretical and experimental studies of rotating fluid flow in a narrow gap between two stationary parallel plates are presented. The flow is driven by a circular cylinder suspended in the gap. The new system of model equation has been derived using multiscale asymptotic method.
