A spatially distributed seasonal model of the global carbon cycle is presented. The model is assumed to simulate preindustrial steady distribution of carbon in the ocean. Response of the model to small deviations about a stationary equilibrium state was investigated. An estimation of absorbing the carbon dioxide emissions to atmosphere by ocean and land biota was made. The carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels burning were taken into consideration.
