The computational experiment is performed to study the possibility for restoring the Young's modulus distribution across the incompressible elastic layer based on the surface displacement and pressure data. The local loading of the layer is under consideration. The statement of the problem invariant with respect to the manner of loading is presented. The restoring is shown to be possible.
